Ayuki decided to close her heart for a while. Maybe she was someone who couldn't be loved. At least, that's what she thought after midnight came and Christmas was no more. Maybe this is what prompted her to believe no one would ever really like her? Or maybe that self doubt was already present, and this event merely fueled that sentiment. Fed up and saddened, she glanced at the time. 12:15. Sato wasn't coming, it didn't matter if she had waited since noon for him, he just wasn't. She finally pulled herself from her snowy seat, cold, bitter, and miserable. Ayuki simply walked home, leaving Sato's gift behind. If she were lucky, she'd never have to deal with it, or him, ever again.
