After gaining her new human form, Nia spent a few decades near a human village, which was her only experience with human life. As far as she knew,  this was all there was to humanity.  Until one day, a newcomer(maybe a trader, maybe a future foxtopus friend) came into town and she realized that there was more life, more cultures, outside of the little village! She quickly grew a penchant for exploration. 

Nia has a bad habit of believing everything she hears. So when living in rural areas, she picked up a whole array of rare beliefs and habits to live by.  From not stepping on cracks to worshipping eldritch creatures living inside the Earth, she does it all! 

Thankfully, she keeps her wits when it comes to right and wrong. She believes that no person should be put in harm's way for any sort of greater good, including herself.  It's only when she doesn't realize her impact that she hurts others. With no reason to believe others would be dishonest to her, she's easily convinced or unconvinced, so without good friends to watch out for her, she's tricked awfully easily.
